If companies nowadays aren’t showing loyalty to their senior employees, how will Gen Z’s perceive college as a worthwhile investment?
There is collateral damage in every layoff we witness today.
Parents are left without jobs, and children are witnessing it firsthand. I now understand why becoming an influencer for a living and dropping out of college seems more realistic. A four-year degree and twenty years worth of work experience no longer guarantee stability. However, a brand deal that pays you $100,000 a year.. kinda does. π₯΄
So, who is in the right?
We need to come together, and recognize that our shared struggles transcend generational boundaries. I refuse to believe that posting TikToks dancing, is a steadier job than working for a corporation.
Working and getting a degree IS so cool.
But we truly need our leaders to establish an environment where trust, safety, and being heard are valued. In return, employees will boost their energy levels and productivity. ππ«ΆπΌβ¨
- Practice what you preach.
- Better long term benefits.
- Be more emphatic.
Think of us (Gen Z-ers) as your little siblings or kids. We are growing up looking up to you. Are you being a good role model?
p.s the domino effect.
